Fenix E-STAR Emergency Flashlight - DISCONTINUED

The battery-less operation sold me—being able to run it off nothing but a AA in a pinch is brilliant, and the 100 lumen burst mode cuts through pitch dark like a knife. I've already used it twice during power blips and the three brightness levels give you just enough control without fiddly menus.

Bought two of these for hurricane season and the fact it runs on an included 1300mAh Ni-MH battery or no battery at all is so clever for emergency prep. The 100 lumen burst mode is plenty bright for walking the dog in a blackout. Wish I'd grabbed more before they were discontinued.

Even though it's discontinued, I'm glad I found this one — the 100 lumen burst mode is surprisingly punchy for such a small light. Being able to run it without any battery at all is a lifesaver when the rechargeable one dies mid-blackout.
