Fenix HL16 AAA Headlamp

Used it for a full week of late-night fence repairs and the three AAA batteries are still going strong on the mid setting, which is a pleasant surprise. The beam’s spread is wide enough to light up the whole work area without that annoying hot spot in the middle.

The 450-lumen burst is genuinely plenty for navigating a dark trail, and the beam spread is wide enough that I don't miss having a separate flood light. Weighs almost nothing on my forehead, so I forgot I had it on for two hours of camp chores.

Charging from 450 lumens on a single 18650 in a AAA-sized body still feels like cheating. The beam pattern is wide enough for camping setup yet throws far enough to spot trail markers. This thing’s been hanging off my backpack strap for three weeks and hasn’t blinked once.
