The Fenix PD35 V2.0 is discontinued, but you can still find it at a discount. Learn the key features and what to consider before buying.
Quick Answer
Yes, the Fenix PD35 V2.0 has been discontinued, but it's still a solid choice if you can find it at the discounted price. It delivers 1000 lumens with a 250-meter range and a simple two-switch interface.
Why Discontinued Doesn't Mean Obsolete
When a flashlight is discontinued, it often raises questions about availability and support. However, the Fenix PD35 V2.0 remains a capable light with features that still hold up today.
The PD35 V2.0 uses a Cree XP-L HI V3 LED to produce a maximum of 1000 lumens, which is plenty for most everyday and tactical uses. Its 250-meter beam distance is also impressive for a light of this size.
Because it's discontinued, you might find it at a lower price, making it a budget-friendly option if you're not concerned about having the latest model.
Myth vs. Reality: PD35 V2.0 Discontinued
- Claim: Discontinued means no longer available anywhere: Reality: While the PD35 V2.0 is officially discontinued, some retailers may still have stock at a discounted price. It's worth checking if you're interested. If you find one, act fast—stock can run out.
- Claim: Discontinued means the light is outdated or inferior: Reality: The PD35 V2.0 still offers 1000 lumens and a 250-meter beam, which are competitive specs even today. Discontinuation often makes room for new models, not because the old one is bad. Focus on the specs that matter for your use case.
- Claim: You must find a replacement immediately: Reality: If the PD35 V2.0 meets your needs, there's no rush to replace it. However, if you want a current model with similar performance, look for Fenix lights with comparable lumen and range ratings. Compare current models only when you need a new light.
