I barely feel this thing on my head at half an ounce, which is exactly why I keep reaching for it on night hikes. The red flash mode is a nice touch for signaling without blinding everyone in the group.

At half an ounce I forget it's on my head during night runs, and the red flash mode has saved me more than once when I heard something rustling off-trail. Two brightness settings is all I need.

The red map light is perfect for reading trail maps without blinding myself, and the two output modes give just the right amount of light for camp chores. I keep reaching for it over my phone light because it's so featherlight on the strap.
